Required application materials: All prospective candidates must submit the following documents to be considered for the fellowship program:

  • A letter of intent

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • Two letters of recommendation

Eligibility requirements: 

Fellowship applications at LSU Health Sciences Center in Cleft & Craniofacial will be considered on a yearly basis with the following criteria:

  1. Graduate or expected graduation from a CODA accredited Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Training Program

  2. U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien

  3. Eligible for dental and/or medical licensure in the state of Louisiana 

  4. Must be credentialed with either a DDS/DMD and/or MD

Program Description: The Cleft Lip/Palate & Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship is a fully-accredited CODA comprehensive two-year fellowship encompassing the full spectrum of Cleft Lip/Palate & Craniofacial Surgery with interdisciplinary comprehensive work-up, treatment planning, and post-operative care.

Clinical focus includes:

  • Cleft Lip & Palate Repair

  • Craniofacial Syndrome Management

  • Velopharyngeal Insufficiency Repair

  • Vascular Tumor/Malformation Surgery

  • Craniosynostosis Repair

  • Management of the Pediatric Airway
